Texan singer/songwriter Kimmie Rhodes is a resident of the Lone Star state’s music capital, Austin and is a neighbour and good friend to the legendary Willie Nelson who has covered a number of Kimmie's songs and recorded an album of duets with her. Described by Willie as "an undiscovered superstar", by Emmylou Harris as possessing the “voice of a beautiful child coming from an old soul” and by Rodney Crowell as having the “soul of a poet and the voice of an angel”, she has been a star of Texas’s left-field country scene since the release of her first album in 1981. Over the course of her career she has produced 15 solo albums and boasts a catalogue of hundreds of songs, many of which have been covered by the likes of Willie, Wynonna Judd, Trisha Yearwood, Waylon Jennings, Joe Ely, Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris.

Kimmie will be accompanied by her guitar virtuoso and multi-instrumentalist son Gabe, and apart from Glasgow, this will be the only UK mainland gig of her current European tour.
